City of Maribor
Maribor is the second largest city in the Republic of Slovenia with 115.000 inhabitants. It has its own university with 17 faculties and approximately 20,000 students. Municipality of Maribor- MOM is responsible for local issues of public interest and tasks according to its temporary strategic directives. MOM actively participates in many EU-funded projects and in EU-project consortiums. MOM participated in a lot of investment or non-investment projects with direct or indirect EU-funding.
The municipality is also the founder or co-founder of public institutions through which it provides conditions for functioning of associations, interest groups and individuals. The municipality employees app. 300 persons. The municipality operates in various areas through individual departments, services, as: Public utility, transport, spatial planning, and environment office; Education, schooling, health, social service, and Research Activity Office; Culture and youth office; Sport Office. One of the areas is also the Development Projects and Investments Service – Project Office where various investment as well as other national and international projects are managed.

Gordana Kolesarič
Gordana (Bachelor of Arts) is Senior expert for project management for EU funded projects in the field of sustainable mobility, climate change, energy efficiency and environmental issues. She is coordinating and implementing EU projects co-financed by INTERREG Central Europe, INTERREG EUROPE, INTERREG Alpine space and ADRION programs at the Municipality of Maribor for 15 years. She was cooperating as well in infrastructure projects introducing cycle paths, pedestrianization and e-mobility in the Municipality of Maribor.

Mateja Bitenc
Mateja joined Development Projects and Investments Service – Project Office at Municipality of Maribor in august 2021 where she took over the completion of final project activities on the UIA project (annual and qualitative reports, audit, and financial claims…) otherwise, she participate in the projects related to smart cities, digitalization, and climate neutrality. She gained a lot of experience working at the Nova KBM Bank, the Central Bank of Slovenia, and the Ministry for Health. As a lawyer, she works in various fields and has experience in planning and coordinating project activities.
